東京から記載された。日本に広く分布し、海外では韓国と中国から記録されている (Mirab-balou, et al., 2011)。日本では最も普通に見られるアザミウマの１つで、クズPueraria lobata、ハギ類Lespedeza spp.、ダイズGlycine max、ニセアカシアRobinia pseudoacacia等、様々なマメ科の葉に見られる。H. ekasiとよく似るが識別は容易（H. ekasiを参照のこと）。

This species was described from Tokyo, Japan and is distributed throughout Japan. It is also distributed in Korea and China other than Japan (Mirab-balou, et al., 2011). It is one of the most common species in Japan and occurs on many kinds of Fabaceae such as Pueraria lobata 、 Lespedeza spp.、Glycine max and Robinia pseudoacacia. It is very similar to H. ekasi but both species can be easily distinguished from each other (see H. ekasi).
